Welcome to the Sixth Grade!
I am extremely excited to be teaching Reading/Language Arts at Magnolia Sixth Grade again this year. Educating children is a passion that continues to grow within me, as I strive to teach all children in their unique challenge zones. My goal is to instill in students that reading and writing is the launching point from which their grasp of the English Language can become a tool for accelerated thinking: the more students read, the greater their vocabulary acquisition. When students learn to use Language as the vehicle for their unique expression, their voice in the world increases.
On a personal note, I have been married for twenty-eight years. My husband is a great source of support for my life and also for my commitment to teaching. He has helped me raise two amazing kids.
Both of my children attended the Magnolia Sixth Grade Campus and graduated from Magnolia West. My daughter, Rachel, is a registered nurse at the Scott and White Children's Hospital in Temple, Texas.  My son, Nicholas, will be a second semester sophomore at Texas A & M this Fall. Nick is currently an Engineering major but also likes sales.
A love of learning is what I hope to help instill this year for my students. I hope to inspire each and every one of my students to work hard, to have faith in themselves, and to realize that education can be an amazingly gratifying personal journey.
It's going to be a great year!
