Welcome to Magnolia 6th Science! We are going to have a great year and I am excited to get to know each of my students. Listed below is information that might be helpful this year for Science.

Following is a breakdown of the Topics of Study for each 9 week Grading Period:

1st Nine Weeks: Science Processes, Chemistry and Energy Resources
2nd Nine Weeks: Types of Energy, Energy Transformations and Physics
3rd Nine Weeks: Geology and Astronomy
4th Nine Weeks: Biology and Science Fair

Grading:
Formative (daily) grades will be 34% (on grade)/25% (pre-AP) of the total grade.
Summative (major/test) grades will be 51% (on-grade)/60% (pre-AP) of the total grade.
District Common Assessments will be 15% of the total grade.

Materials needed for class:
Composition book and pencil
These will be kept in class but can be taken home anytime to study.  Students will also need basic school supplies to use during class such as glue sticks, scissors, etc.

Tutorials:
6:45-7:15 Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Conference:
12:47-1:33 Monday through Friday

Make-Up Work:
When a student is absent they should attend a tutorial session to get caught up on missing assignments/labs/notes/activities.
