About Mrs. Schanzer

Hello!  I teach English Language Arts and Reading at the Magnolia 6th Grade Campus.  I love living in the Magnolia area and getting to know all of the fabulous students who come through my classroom.  I am from The Woodlands, Texas, where I graduated from The Woodlands High School with a letterman in orchestra and German.  I hold a BA degree in English from Texas State University, and  a Master of Education degree from Sam Houston State University.  I am certified as an ESL educator by the State of Texas.  I believe in teaching students to be strong readers and writers, and also to encourage students to build skills in using technology to communicate.   Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you need anything.

This year, students in my class will be using the online system, Canvas, owned and operated by Magnolia ISD in the classroom and at home.  Students can complete assignments, check the class calendar, see grades, and communicate through the canvas website.  We hope to foster a use of technology to prepare students for the 21st century.  Each student has a school e-mail that they can use to access our google classroom, a place where students can share google files and compile a digital portfolio on their google drive.
